Mailgun

Send your store's order emails to customers through Mailgun, a developer-trusted email delivery service with strong deliverability.

About this plugin

Mailgun delivers the order emails your Orderain store sends: order confirmations, shipping alerts, and delivery notices. Connect your Mailgun account and verified sending domain, and Orderain sends every email through Mailgun for you.

Orderain builds each email from your store's own branded layouts and hands it to Mailgun to deliver, so you do not need to design anything in Mailgun itself. Emails go out from your own verified domain for strong inbox placement, and Mailgun's dashboard shows delivery, opens, clicks, and bounces so you can watch your sender reputation. Mailgun includes a free plan to start.

Key Features:

  • Delivers your order confirmation, shipping, and delivery emails
  • Sends your store's own branded emails, no template building required in Mailgun
  • Sends from your own verified domain for strong deliverability
  • Delivery, open, click, and bounce tracking in your Mailgun dashboard
  • Built for developers with a well-documented REST API
  • Free plan to start, then pay only as you grow

Installation guide

Step 1: Go to mailgun.com and sign in, or create an account. The free plan sends up to 100 emails per day.

Step 2: In the left sidebar, open SendingDomains, then click Add New Domain. Enter a sending subdomain (for example mg.yourstore.com) and pick your Domain region (US or EU).

Step 3: Click Add Domain. Note the region you chose, you will need it in Orderain.

Step 4: Add the DNS records Mailgun shows you (TXT for SPF and DKIM, and the MX records) to your domain's DNS.

Step 5: Click Verify. The domain must show a green Verified status before it can send.

Step 6: In the left sidebar, open SendingAPI keys (or your profile menu → API keys), and copy your Sending API key.

Step 7: In your Orderain Dashboard, go to Shop, then select Plugins from the left sidebar and click on Mailgun.

Step 8: Paste your key into the Mailgun API Key field, enter your verified Sending domain from Step 2, and choose your Region (US or EU) from Step 2.

Step 9: Enter the Sender email on your verified domain (for example orders@mg.yourstore.com), add a Sender name customers will recognize, and optionally a Reply-to email.

Step 10: Click Save, then place a test order. The customer should receive the order confirmation within a few seconds. Check SendingLogs in your Mailgun dashboard to confirm it shows as Delivered.
