SendGrid (Twilio)

Send your store's order emails to customers through Twilio SendGrid, a trusted high-deliverability sending platform.

About this plugin

SendGrid, part of Twilio, delivers the order emails your Orderain store sends: order confirmations, shipping alerts, and delivery notices. Connect your SendGrid account and pick a verified sender, and Orderain sends every email through SendGrid for you.

Orderain builds each email from your store's own branded layouts and hands it to SendGrid to deliver, so you do not need to design anything in SendGrid itself. Emails go out from your verified sender for strong inbox placement, and SendGrid's analytics show opens, clicks, bounces, and spam reports so you can watch your sender reputation.

Key Features:

  • Delivers your order confirmation, shipping, and delivery emails
  • Sends your store's own branded emails, no template building required in SendGrid
  • Sends from a verified sender or authenticated domain to stay out of spam
  • Open, click, bounce, and spam analytics in your SendGrid dashboard
  • High-volume sending built for strong deliverability
  • Connects with a single API key

Installation guide

Step 1: Go to sendgrid.com and sign in, or create an account. New accounts include a trial; after the trial, a paid plan is required to keep sending.

Step 2: In the left sidebar, open SettingsSender Authentication, then choose Single Sender Verification and click Create New Sender.

Step 3: Fill in your from-address, sender name, and business mailing address, then click Create.

Step 4: Open the inbox of that from-address, find the email from SendGrid, and click Verify Single Sender. The sender should now show a green Verified status. Note this address for later. Email cannot be sent from an address until it shows as verified.

Step 5: In the left sidebar, open SettingsAPI Keys, click Create API Key, name it Orderain, choose Restricted Access, and give Mail Send full access.

Step 6: Click Create & View, then copy the key. It starts with SG. and is shown only once.

Step 7: In your Orderain Dashboard, go to Shop, then select Plugins from the left sidebar and click on SendGrid (Twilio).

Step 8: Paste your key into the SendGrid API Key field, enter the verified from-address from Step 4 in the Sender email field, add a Sender name customers will recognize, and optionally a Reply-to email.

Step 9: Click Save, then place a test order. The customer should receive the order confirmation within a few seconds. Check Activity in your SendGrid dashboard to confirm it shows as Delivered.
