Shopify

Bring your Shopify products into Orderain and keep prices, stock, and status in sync automatically.

About this plugin

If you already sell on Shopify, this plugin brings those products straight into your Orderain store. Connect your store once, pick the products you want, and they appear on your storefront with their descriptions, variants, prices, and images already set up. No re-typing anything by hand.

Once connected, it keeps itself up to date. When you change a price, edit a product, or sell stock on Shopify, Orderain picks up the change and updates the matching product on your side. Your two stores stay in step without you touching a thing.

Key Features:

  • Import products from your Shopify store with titles, descriptions, variants, prices, and images
  • Choose exactly which products to bring in, or import your whole catalogue at once
  • Price and inventory changes on Shopify update the matching product in Orderain automatically
  • Editing or deleting a product on Shopify is reflected in Orderain
  • Products that sell out on Shopify are marked out of stock in Orderain
  • Turn sync off any time to manage a product manually in Orderain instead

Installation guide

Step 1: Log in to your Shopify admin at admin.shopify.com.

Step 2: Go to Settings (bottom-left corner), then click Apps in the sidebar.

Step 3: Click Develop apps (top-right of the Apps page), then click Build apps in Dev Dashboard. The Dev Dashboard opens in a new tab.

Step 4: In the Dev Dashboard, click Create app (on the Apps page, or in the Get API credentials bar at the bottom).

Step 5: On the Create an app screen, use the Start from Dev Dashboard box on the right. Enter an app name such as Orderain Import, then click Create. You can ignore the Shopify CLI box on the left, as you do not need it.

Step 6: Scroll to the API access section. In the Scopes box, enter both scopes as a comma-separated list:
read_products, read_inventory
Leave Optional scopes empty and leave Use legacy install flow unchecked.

Step 7: Click Release (top-right) to publish this version of the app.

Step 8: A Release this new version? box appears. Both fields are optional, so leave them blank and click Release to confirm.

Step 9: Click the app name at the top of the left panel to open the Overview page. In the Installs box (top-right), click Install app, then approve the access request. Shopify may send you to your store to confirm. Approve there and the install count changes to 1. This step is required, because the app must be installed before the credentials can connect to your store.

Step 10: Go back to the Dev Dashboard tab and open the app's Settings tab. Under Credentials, copy your Client ID, then reveal and copy your Client Secret (it starts with shpss_). Keep the secret private and treat it like a password.

Step 11: In your Orderain Dashboard, go to Plugins and click on Shopify Import.

Step 12: Paste your Shopify store domain (for example yourstore.myshopify.com), your Client ID, and your Client secret into the fields, then click Install. Orderain uses these to connect securely to Shopify on your behalf.

Step 13: Once connected, click Shopify Import in the sidebar. Browse your Shopify catalogue, select the products you want, then click Import Selected. Your products are now live on Orderain and will stay in sync with Shopify.

Note: Shopify changed how store connections work on January 1, 2026. Apps no longer give out a copy-and-paste access token. Instead you provide your app's Client ID and Client Secret, and Orderain exchanges them for a secure connection on its own. The app and store need to belong to the same Shopify account, which they do when you follow the steps above.
